History of Chakla Dham

Baba Lokenath was born in 1730 on the auspicious day of Janmashtami to Ramnarayan Ghoshal and Kamala Devi. From childhood, he embraced spirituality and later became a renowned yogi and saint. He spent years in meditation and eventually established his spiritual presence at Baradi Ashram (present-day Bangladesh). Baba Lokenath attained Mahasamadhi in 1890.

Although Kachua Dham is officially recognized as his birthplace, many devotees continue to regard Chakla Dham as one of the holiest places associated with Baba Lokenath’s life and teachings.
