Experience Pilgrimages Like Never Before

Kapil Muni Ashram Gangasagar

Gangasagar holds deep spiritual importance for Hindus. Mentioned in ancient scriptures like the Mahabharata, the tradition of taking a holy dip at the Ganga-Sagar confluence is believed to cleanse one of all sins. The saying “Sab tirtha bar bar, Gangasagar ekbar” reflects its sacred status — once difficult to reach, now easily accessible from Kolkata.

The Gangasagar Mela, celebrated every year during Makar Sankranti (January 13–15), is India’s second-largest pilgrimage fair after Kumbh Mela. Thousands of devotees gather to offer prayers to Lord Surya (the Sun God) and perform the Ganga Snan, symbolizing faith, purity, and liberation.
