Gangasagar is a famous place for Hindus to take pilgrimage tours. It is the point where the Ganges river meets the Bay of Bengal. And, it is very sacred. Thousands of people come every year to immerse themselves in the water of the holy river. Especially, it becomes more crowded during Makar Sankranti, which is observed in the month of January every year.

1 Day Tour Itinerary

Kolkata to Gangasagar Journey Early morning at 4.00 AM or 5.00 AM, we shall pick up the passenger from their hotel in Kolkata to take them to Lot 8 Harwood Point Jetty via a private vehicle, breakfast en route. After reaching the jetty, purchase tickets either from the government on-spot ferry or private ferry that travels through the Muriganga river to Gangasagar. After reaching Gangasagar around 10.00 AM, visit Kapil Muni Ashram via a private vehicle. Have a holy dip in the water while performing puja, around 1.00 PM have lunch on their own expense and then head back to Kolkata in the same manner by evening at 5.00 PM or 6.00 PM.

Kolkata Gangasagar Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: KOLKATA
Arrival at Kolkata, Pick up from Railway station, Check-In hotel, Refreshment, half-day city sightseeing GPO, Writers Building, Eden Garden Stadium*, Mother House, Victoria Memorial Hall & Kalighat Kali Temple. (Drive by pass only). Overnight stay at Kolkata hotel.

Day 2: Kolkata – GANGESAGAR
Post breakfast, departure for whole day excursion trip to Gangesagar – An island in the junction of River Ganges and Bay of Bengal & well-known for Kapil Muni Ashram that holds immense religious importance. Return back to Kolkata in the evening. Overnight stay at Kolkata hotel.

Note: We will provide AC transport for Kolkata to Ferry Ghat (Lot No. 8/ Harwood Point (90Kms) and back to Kolkata. Upon arrival at Lot No. 8, ferrying across the Muriganga River to reach Kachuberia from where the Sagar Island can be reached by taking a private car. Cost of ferrying and private transport is not included between Kachuberia and Sagar Island.

Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and departure for airport/railway station.
